Tender is the Night - Sarah Donnellan

Intoxicating Moon

Under the moon where we find ourselves suddenly,
With the night darkness wrapping around all of us,
Hypnotizing, we’re captured, held by her bright glow.
Lightheaded, dizzy, thereby uninhibited.

Waxing and waning, we are intoxicated.

Watching from above over all cast by her spell,
Uniting mortals with those of a fantasy,
Powerfully impelling bizarre behavior,
According to the nature of your character.

Waxing and waning, we are intoxicated.

Like the moon gracefully passing through her phases,
So too, are we transformed by the love and the lust
In ways uninspired by outside of this world,
This magical place and seemingly timeless space.

Waxing and waning, we are intoxicated.

Daylight leisurely creeps in, her hold unfolding.
Mortals start to waken, fairies begin to dim.
Whether were a dream or no, we vow to return.
For now and until next our meeting together…

Waxing and waning, we are freed.

OMG Sarah- I love this poem! I truly think it's one of your best! You've completely enveloped the sensations of night time and so playfully. (Your sculptor is so perfect with it.)

Really nicely done.

Sarah,

Isn't it great that you posted this image and the poem on the night of the Supermoon!!!! How perfect is that. Millions made a point of seeing the moon last night and taking photos. They are posted everywhere. The moon can be intoxicating.

I am seeing many layers of different kind of moon trying to unfold within your art as I read along the poem, truly mesmerizing :D how wonderful to be reading this during the night =D

Thank you, Vikki, I think it should be highly recommended to take yourself out and into your imagination as often as possible :)

Rusty, it was good timing! I did see a lot of pictures where it appeared in varying shades of orange and most with great detail. I read it was only an hour away!!

Riika, thank you, I know you'd agree with me how wonderful it is that art and words have the power to mesmerize and transform us.
